Software Engineering Manager (Open Banking)

What you will do

• Manage the complete development lifecycle for software engineering teams and their assigned programs and systems.
• Review code and ensure alignment with business needs, change-control procedures, and development standards.
• Guide the design and delivery of Java/Spring Boot microservices and API-first solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, engineers, architecture, and business stakeholders on estimates, feasibility, technology roadmaps, and system design.
• Provide strategic insights to IT management and mentor engineering teams.
• Drive engineering excellence through Agile delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, code quality, observability, reliability, and performance management.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of experience developing technical solutions.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams delivering secure, scalable, high-quality software.
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, cloud-native development, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD, SQL/NoSQL, and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of API lifecycle management, Domain-Driven Design, observability tools, operational reliability, monitoring, and performance management.

Nice to have

• Experience in banking, financial services, payments, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with API Gateway platforms, ERP ecosystems, enterprise data flows, and API-based integrations.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software engineering, LLM integration, AI APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and AI governance.
