Pharmacist (Veterinary)

Location: Pharmacy, Fort Worth, Texas, United States; onsite, 8:00–17:00

What you will do

• Review and interpret veterinary orders for correct dosing, interactions, incompatibilities, and toxic combinations.
• Dispense prescriptions for pets in accordance with pharmacy policies, regulations, and applicable laws.
• Counsel pet owners on medications and maintain accurate patient profiles.
• Maintain controls for audited controlled drugs and alcohol, including preparation of controlled-drug requests.
• Verify pharmacy technicians’ and ancillary personnel’s work, including drug data entry, cassette filling, and unit-dose distribution.
• Participate in clinical programs, drug monitoring, consultations, education, and special studies.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
• 6–12 months of pharmacy experience.
• Licensed Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the state of Texas and other states as required.
• Knowledge of pharmacy principles, regulations, policies, procedures, mathematics, and medication safety.
• Computer, keyboard, pharmacy equipment, PPE, communication, attention-to-detail, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds and remain seated or standing for extended periods.
