Quality Inspector

Location: Pittsburg, Kansas, United States; onsite in a manufacturing facility

What you will do

• Inspect production jobs, materials, workmanship, and completed products against company procedures, drawings, checklists, and quality requirements.
• Verify material selection, customer-supplied equipment, product identification, packing, and packing lists before shipment.
• Identify non-conforming materials and quality concerns, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement.
• Partner with production supervisors, engineering, scheduling, and quality leadership on quality issues and process improvements.
• Train production team members, assist with quality procedure and work-instruction updates, and review customer contact reports.
• Participate in production scheduling meetings with operations and department leads.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• 1–2 years of related experience required, including preferably at least one year in a manufacturing quality inspection role.
• Familiarity with welding, electrical, and painting processes.
• Knowledge of building codes, National Electrical Code requirements, and Structural Steel Painting Council standards is preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication, basic math, organization, and timely execution skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform bending, kneeling, climbing, and other physical activities, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.
