Quality Inspector - Welding

hirify.global provides custom-engineered industrial refrigeration and process cooling systems using natural refrigerants such as ammonia and CO₂. The company delivers engineering, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, service, and aftermarket support in-house.

What you will do

• Inspect welded components and assemblies against engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Perform dimensional checks, visual inspections, and applicable non-destructive testing.
• Identify weld defects such as cracks, porosity, undercutting, and incomplete fusion.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and weld gauges to verify tolerances.
• Document inspection findings, deviations, corrective actions, and traceable quality records.
• Collaborate with welders, engineers, and production staff on corrections, root cause analysis, safety, and process improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of quality inspection or welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of welding symbols and ANSI, AWS, and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
• Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools, documentation, communication, and basic computer reporting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, stand for most of the shift, and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in heat, cold, dust, and noise.

Nice to have

• Technical certification in welding or quality control.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
• Prior welding experience, especially pipe welding.
