Solar Field Service Technician (Livermore, CA)

Location: Full-time onsite jobsite in Livermore, California, United States; remote field locations, extreme weather, and on-call work may be required.

Compensation: $25.02–$31.27 per hour

What you will do

• Perform supervised maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, replacement, and repair of solar equipment.
• Operate and care for company vehicles, equipment, tooling, and property.
• Use monitoring programs and testing equipment to support solar plant maintenance.
• Respond to on-call requests, including emergency repairs during weekends or after hours.
• Prepare accurate service documentation and reports.
• Suggest process improvements, collaborate on new technologies, and coordinate implementation with EPC management.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Mechanical or electrical experience through formal training or previous work, with basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installations, testing equipment, computer operation, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• English communication skills, organizational ability, and capacity to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work at remote outdoor sites in extreme weather and perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50 pounds or more and occasional climbing.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, ability to operate a company vehicle, and willingness to obtain NFPA 70E safety certification.
