Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1)

Location: Full-time onsite jobsite in Ramsey, Illinois. Travel up to 10% may be required for training, certifications, and site coverage. The role may include on-call work during weekends or after hours.

Salary: $25.02–$31.27 per hour.

What you will do

• Service solar equipment across multiple solar plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and supervised repair or replacement of solar parts and equipment.
• Operate, maintain, and care for company vehicles, equipment, tools, and property.
• Follow safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, and respond to emergency repairs when on call.
• Prepare accurate maintenance documentation and reports.
• Suggest process improvements, collaborate on new technologies, and coordinate implementation with EPC management.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Training or experience in a mechanical/electrical environment, with basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installations, testing equipment, computer operation, and lockout/tagout of energized systems.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• Ability to work safely at remote outdoor locations in extreme weather, lift 50 pounds or more, climb, bend, crouch, and work in exposed or difficult-to-access areas.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship are required. NFPA 70E safety training certification must be obtained.
