Technical Lead (AI)

Location: Metro Detroit Area, Michigan; hybrid work with required travel to the Farmington Hills office and US client sites when requested

Base salary: $143,000–$185,000 annually, depending on experience, plus profit sharing

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise applications, data and integration solutions, AI agents, and AI models.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical solutions and contribute to strategy, roadmaps, architecture decisions, and technology evaluations.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance while defining engineering standards and design patterns.
• Develop scalable production-grade applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Build automated testing strategies, quality gates, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-deployed services.
• Integrate enterprise systems through APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging platforms while resolving performance, technical debt, and reliability issues.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise applications, data or analytics solutions, and/or integration solutions.
• At least 1 year of technical leadership experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or Architect.
• At least 1 year of AI-augmented software development experience for enterprise solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with programming, data modeling and databases, REST or GraphQL APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging, Docker or Kubernetes, and AWS or Azure.
• Experience with AI coding assistants, LLM prompt engineering, and fine-tuning strategies for LLM applications.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or minor in AI or Machine Learning.
• Hands-on experimentation with agentic systems, LLMs, or ML tools.
