Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote-friendly role for candidates authorized to work in the U.S.; Eastern Time working hours. Hiring is available across most U.S. states, excluding AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, ID, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MT, NE, NH, NM, ND, OK, RI, SC, SD, VT, WV, and WY. Relocation to NYC is supported.

Salary: $200,000–$258,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the Developer Experience engineering team.
• Own the DX strategy and roadmap, improving engineering velocity, quality, and satisfaction.
• Lead hiring, career development, promotion, and team growth.
• Evaluate and integrate AI tooling into the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with staff engineers and engineering managers to roll out scalable engineering improvements.
• Set code quality standards and optimize local development, build, bundling, and hot-reload performance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience and 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Strong proficiency across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Experience with developer tooling, build systems, bundlers, testing frameworks, package managers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI tooling in development workflows and evaluating its safe, effective integration.
• Experience organizing and leading multiple projects with measurable outcomes.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. is required; the role works with Eastern Time.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, SolidJS, React Native, Node, Rust, Python, LLM APIs, LangChain, AWS, CDK, Terraform, ECS, Redis, Postgres, or JSON-based application representations.
