Senior Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: Bethlehem, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $95,170–$156,355 per year, plus potential incentive compensation

What you will do

• Develop complex API and microservice solutions for the Group Benefits Absence Platform and ACE Program.
• Lead technical design discussions and translate business objectives into actionable customer solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, product managers, testing partners, release management, and a SaaS platform provider.
• Support production readiness, investigate escalated defects, analyze application logs, and identify root causes.
• Create monitoring and alerting, coordinate non-production and production deployments, and maintain deployment cadence.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and oversee technical aspects of SDLC governance across multiple teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with Java Spring Boot, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redis, Hibernate, and Microsoft Graph API.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, AWS, Docker, EKS, SNS/SQS, SDKs, APIs, microservices, build tools, testing, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of secure programming, cloud security, source control, TDD, logging, and monitoring tools including Git, Bitbucket, CloudWatch, Splunk, ArgoCD, AppDynamics, and Zenoss.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Python, React, or Apache Camel experience.
• FINEOS Group Insurance product knowledge.
