Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Hourly wage: $35.00–$70.00 per hour. Additional premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour may apply in specific circumstances.

hirify.global operates retail stores and supermarket facilities requiring commercial HVAC/R and refrigeration services.

What you will do

• Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, building pneumatics, and supermarket refrigeration equipment.
• Lead diagnostics, troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, cold chain, and indoor air quality systems.
• Coordinate HVAC/R field teams, work assignments, service calls, regional workloads, escalations, and on-call support for business-critical incidents.
• Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, purchases, vendors, service contracts, work orders, maintenance records, and required documentation.
• Train and mentor technicians on safety, control troubleshooting, system operations, and field practices.
• Lead special projects, evaluate new technologies, recommend operational improvements, and maintain company vehicles safely.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in HVAC or grocery rack refrigeration, or six years of such experience plus an Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Current Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling; HVAC/R or mechanical journeyman credentials where required.
• At least one year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or two years of hirify.global store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no recent DUI, DWI, OUI, serious traffic violations, preventable accidents, or more than two moving violations within the specified periods.
• Ability to use heavy machinery and comply with OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant protocols, and applicable federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or associate degree in air conditioning and refrigeration.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, Glycol, and CO2 systems.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
