Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration (HVAC/R)

Location: Ocean Springs, Mississippi, United States; on-site facility services with work or training at multiple facilities and distant locations within an assigned region.

Salary: $29.00–$58.00 per hour, with potential premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is included in the position title.

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, building pneumatics, rack systems, walk-ins, reach-ins, and supermarket refrigeration units.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, controls, and refrigerant-related issues and perform inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Operate heavy machinery and company vehicles, complete service calls, coordinate vehicle maintenance, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Track refrigerant levels, parts inventory, vendors, warranty claims, expenses, and work orders using digital scheduling and administrative tools.
• Lead field teams, mentor technicians and apprentices, support training plans, and coordinate escalated issues with managers and external service providers.
• Follow OSHA, EPA 608, cold-chain, indoor-air-quality, and federal, state, and local HVAC/R compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Either a vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in commercial HVAC/R, building controls, mechanical maintenance, construction-related, or related work.
• Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC/R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record must meet requirements covering DUI/DWI/OUI convictions, moving violations, preventable accidents, and serious traffic violations.
• Ability to read layouts, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and building codes and to work at multiple facilities or distant locations.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience with blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office productivity software.
