Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Location: Watertown, New York, United States; onsite work at a Walmart facility

Salary: $35.00–$70.00 per hour, with possible hourly premiums of $0.35–$3.00.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment and facility assets.
• Use hand tools, power tools, digital tools, testing equipment, and other required equipment.
• Receive and manage repair work orders, document repair activities, and support stores and associates.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and diagnose issues through inspection, operation, and testing.
• Complete safety training and follow OSHA, EPA, and Walmart Refrigeration HVAC policies and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, use ladders, and work frequently at heights.

Requirements

• Experience in commercial HVAC and grocery rack refrigeration; the posting lists options ranging from 3 years of experience to 6 years plus an AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Large-scale rack refrigeration experience and Type I/Type II or Universal EPA refrigerant-handling certification.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or Walmart store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; minimum age 18 and high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Commercial driving record without recent DUI, DWI, OUI, serious traffic violations, or preventable accidents.
• Completion of a two-year technical or vocational HVAC/R program or associate degree.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams and using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Experience with glycol and CO2 systems.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software.
