Supplier Industrialization Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Build the supplier industrialization function from the ground up, including playbooks, stage-gate requirements, and qualification processes.
• Own end-to-end industrialization for PCBAs, electronic assemblies, and tactile sensing components.
• Engage with engineering teams during the design phase to drive DFM, DFA, and DFT reviews.
• Identify, assess, and select suppliers, leading technical audits of manufacturing capability and quality systems.
• Lead new product introduction at supplier sites, including process validation, SMT line bring-up, and yield improvement.
• Establish supplier quality management systems, including incoming quality criteria and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Must be based in Palo Alto, CA (On-site role).
• 7+ years of experience in supplier industrialization, supplier quality, NPI, or manufacturing engineering in hardware-intensive industries.
• Proven experience building or significantly shaping an SI, SQE, or NPI function.
• Fluent in the industrialization toolkit: PPAP, APQP, pFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, and DOE.
• Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar) with the ability to read schematics and layouts.
• Experience auditing and developing suppliers directly, including CMs/CEMs and component manufacturers.

Nice to have

• Experience with tactile sensing or high-mix sensor manufacturing.
• Background in humanoid or mobile robotics.
• Six Sigma / Lean certification or ASQ CQE.
• Experience hiring and leading an SIE or SQE function.
