Staff Mechanical Engineer (Robotics)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; Workplace: On-site

Salary: $160,000–$210,000 per year, dependent on skills, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead a project team developing new robot products.
• Design and manage mechanical components across the hardware lifecycle, from concept and fabrication through testing and production.
• Collaborate with industrial design, electrical engineering, product, and software teams on system-level design decisions.
• Identify and resolve issues in existing robot systems while considering engineering effort and budget.
• Build rapid prototypes and design and execute test plans.
• Work with and manage external vendors.

Requirements

• 9+ years of industry experience and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with SolidWorks and PDM.
• Experience designing user-facing products.
• Experience with robotic or mechatronic systems.
• Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to work independently.
