Automation Engineer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Support the building and activation of automation projects, including mechanical assembly, wiring, and pneumatics routing.
• Design and build wire harnesses, PCBAs, test racks, and robotics equipment.
• Troubleshoot and remedy issues with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, HMIs, and PLCs.
• Manage first article builds, address production shortages, and maintain equipment documentation.
• Develop and manage maintenance plans to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Coordinate with supply chain and vendors for outsourced equipment builds.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Austin, TX (Hybrid role)
• 3+ years of experience supporting the design and manufacture of assembly machinery or high-volume products.
• Hands-on experience fabricating harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, and test stations.
• Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming and industrial machine networking.
• Experience with electrical schematic drawing and electromechanical debug.
• Associate or bachelor's degree or occupational trade school qualification in an electrical field.
