Principal Quality Engineer

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; full-time onsite position

Pay range: $82,900–$134,300 per year

What you will do

• Serve as the technical expert for complex product, manufacturing process, and supplier quality issues across multiple product platforms.
• Lead structured problem-solving, corrective and preventive actions, defect reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Design, validate, and optimize manufacturing and quality processes, controls, control plans, and testing methods.
• Apply DOE, SPC, MSA, process capability analysis, PFMEA, root cause analysis, Lean, and Six Sigma methods.
• Support supplier quality requirements, APQP/PPAP activities, supplier audits, new product introductions, and production readiness.
• Mentor quality engineers, inspectors, and analysts while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, sales, and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• At least eight years of progressive quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience resolving complex product, manufacturing, or supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Advanced knowledge of quality engineering principles, statistical methods, Lean process improvement, and continuous improvement tools.
• Ability to work onsite in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Certified Quality Engineer certification, Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with GD&T, technical drawings, DOE, SPC, MSA, PFMEA, control plans, APQP, and PPAP.
• Project management, supplier and customer quality audits, process validation, and new product development experience.
• Experience leading Lean, Kaizen, or other manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
