Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead quality functions for assigned programs from proposal through customer shipment.
• Support customer programs, supplier quality requirements, and production readiness.
• Host customer quality audits and participate in internal audits.
• Interface with suppliers and customers on program quality requirements.
• Issue and manage supplier corrective actions, CAPA, and RCCA activities.
• Lead quality activities for materials, processes, assemblies, products, and field failures.

Requirements

• Experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with high-precision machined parts and assembly operations.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 quality systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and GD&T.
• Knowledge of process capability concepts and SPC techniques.
• Supplier quality, continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, problem-solving, and ERP/MRP experience; willingness to travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• BS or MS in a science or engineering discipline, preferably with an electromechanical focus.
• Six Sigma Black or Green Belt.
• ASQ CQE or CQM certification.
• Experience with military or aerospace quality systems and direct customer and supplier engagement.
• Experience with MS Project.
