Automation Engineer (Safety, Sensors & Industrial Control)

Location: Traverse City, Michigan, United States; onsite role with office, warehouse, fabrication, and moving-equipment exposure.

What you will do

• Provide commercial leadership and collaborate with Rockwell Automation and other automation manufacturing partners.
• Support the sales team in territory business development and closing automation opportunities.
• Create bills of materials for quotations, process orders, and service customer needs with Inside Sales.
• Help customers select automation products and solutions for applications and projects.
• Provide post-sale technical and commercial support for customer questions and issues.
• Serve as a point of contact for partner manufacturers and participate in annual planning.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on electrical and mechanical experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, networks, safety, motion control, variable frequency drives, and other automation equipment.
• Understanding of manufacturing machinery, processes, networks, and analytics.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to design control systems and equipment, solve problems, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, operate a vehicle, and work in office, warehouse, and fabrication environments.

Nice to have

• More than 5 years of industrial distribution experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technology degree or certificate, or equivalent training and experience.
