Construction Manager (Flood Control)

What you will do

• Manage flood control infrastructure projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Oversee contractor operations and verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, regulations, and contract requirements.
• Serve as the primary field representative and technical resource for construction engineering decisions.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, quality, safety, quantities, payment estimates, and project risks.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, change orders, pay applications, and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, utilities, contractors, and other stakeholders; conduct site observations and resolve field conflicts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas required.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in heavy civil, water resources, flood control, drainage, transportation, or municipal infrastructure construction.
• Knowledge of construction management, contract administration, engineering plans, technical specifications, hydrology, hydraulics, grading, drainage systems, and erosion control.
• Experience with scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and engineering or construction management software.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required; work involves outdoor field conditions and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 lbs.
