Capital Markets Public Finance Banker (Municipal Finance)

What you will do

• Develop and cultivate relationships with municipal issuers, particularly senior administration at school districts.
• Advise cities, counties, school districts, and other political subdivisions on financing methods for securities-style debt.
• Partner with underwriting and banking teams to secure roles in underwriting syndicates.
• Help structure and price municipal debt in line with customer needs and market conditions.
• Refer opportunities to the Public Finance Department for direct financing and other banking services, assisting with credit and pricing analysis.
• Manage and support analysts by assigning tasks, providing guidance, and allocating resources to meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in municipal finance or public school administration.
• Knowledge of laws, rulings, and regulations applicable to municipal finance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Series 7, Series 63, and/or Series 52 licenses, or the ability to obtain the required licenses within 90 days.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications and DBC Finance bond sizing and structuring software.

Nice to have

• Established relationships and contacts in the Texas municipal market.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Public Administration.
• Experience as a school district CFO or superintendent.
