Public Finance Associate

Location: Office-based in Chicago, Houston, or New York; applicants must be currently authorized to work full time in the United States.

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Support the structuring, analysis, and execution of municipal bond and note transactions, including new issuances, refinancings, and restructurings.
• Manage transaction timelines, deliverables, documentation, scheduling, and closing logistics across multiple concurrent deals.
• Develop financial models, debt profiles, analytical reports, and transaction structure analyses.
• Prepare pitch books, offering memoranda, and client presentations tailored to financing opportunities and market conditions.
• Engage with public sector clients and collaborate with Public Finance, Relationship Management, Capital Markets, Compliance, Knowledge Center, and Proposal teams.
• Conduct market, sector, and client research while supporting business development, process improvements, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in public finance, investment banking, capital markets, or corporate finance.
• FINRA SIE, Series 52, and Series 63 certifications.
• Strong financial modeling, financial statement analysis, credit fundamentals, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail and organization.
