Senior Systems Engineer (Secret clearance)

Location: Hybrid; on site at least 2–3 times per week, with additional on-site days potentially required. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain System Requirements Documents, Technical Requirements Documents, Interface Control Documents, mission-protection documentation, technical assessments, integration plans, verification plans, and digital system models.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, ground architectures, and technical baselines for satellite ground systems.
• Research emerging requirements, technologies, and threats and apply systems-engineering methods to solve complex mission problems.
• Support system integration, testing, validation, verification, and transition from concept to operational readiness.
• Coordinate technical work between clients, engineering teams, related teams, and leadership.
• Lead and mentor engineers while promoting technical excellence and collaboration.

Requirements

• Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• 10+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense weapon-system acquisitions or systems engineering.
• 5+ years of systems-engineering analysis and engineering-product development for satellite systems or command-and-control and data-processing ground systems.
• 3+ years of experience leading teams of at least five people.
• Experience developing technical specifications, interface-control documents, ground architectures, integration plans, schedules, test plans, requirements, and testable verification criteria.

Nice to have

• Experience with RF systems modeling, simulation, or analysis, including space-to-ground and payload systems.
• Experience with space-based remote sensing systems, including SBIRS, Next Generation OPIR, FORGE, STSS, HBTSS, or DSP.
• Model-Based Systems Engineering experience and knowledge of satellite ground-system design, cloud architecture, DevOps, DevSecOps, networking, data processing, and space-system operations.
• Knowledge of DoD 5000.01 and 5000.02, IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2, or INCOSE systems-engineering certifications.
• TS/SCI clearance or a master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.
