Electrical Technician (Industrial Controls)

Location: Richmond, VA, USA; onsite, day shift

Pay: $35.51 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain the reliability and integrity of plant electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
• Install, diagnose, calibrate, document, maintain, and repair electrical and industrial control systems.
• Support PLC, HMI, DCS, QCS, UPS, and automation systems in the paper mill and power plant.
• Configure and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage AC/DC drives and motor control systems.
• Maintain process instrumentation, including transmitters, valves, actuators, scanners, and sheet-control equipment.
• Support hydraulic and pneumatic systems, emergency repairs, shutdowns, outages, projects, and specialized equipment planning.

Requirements

• Journeyman electrician card required.
• Associate degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or at least five years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial electrical controls and systems.
• High-voltage experience required.
• Proficiency with computer control software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read piping and instrument diagrams, signal-flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, and wire lists.
• Strong communication, reasoning, organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in high-pressure situations.
