TL;DR
Lead Electrical & Instrument Technician (Electrical Engineering): Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, control, and power-generation equipment at a waste-to-energy facility with an accent on high- and low-voltage systems, turbine generators, DCS controls, and emissions monitoring. Focus on directing and mentoring E&I technicians, performing preventive maintenance and shutdown inspections, and maintaining safe, reliable plant operations.

What you will do
- Direct and participate in daily electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities across the process and power-generation plant.
- Coordinate work assignments with operations and maintenance personnel, prioritize scheduled work, and ensure proper shift turnovers and completion records.
- Maintain and test low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, transformers, switchyard equipment, and turbine-driven generators.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, CEMS equipment, DCS and historian devices, and controls for boilers, pollution-control systems, pumps, fans, motors, conveyors, and refuse cranes.
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, thermography, ultrasonic testing, shutdown inspections, and maintenance documentation.
- Mentor crew members, enforce safe work practices, maintain clean work areas, and report incidents and operational issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience maintaining power plant systems, equipment, and components.
- Experience operating and maintaining electrical systems from 13 kV to 120 V, including motor control centers, load centers, circuit breakers, motors, and associated controls.
- Experience with medium or large turbine generators, instrumentation, and controls.
- Experience with Emerson Ovation or similar DCS control systems and fire detection or suppression system controls.
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, work at heights and in confined spaces, lift or carry 50 pounds, wear a full-face respirator, and work in varying weather conditions.
