Electrical Technician - Industrial Electrical Maintenance & Instrumentation

What you will do

• Install, modify, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and electronic systems used for pipeline control, instrumentation, indication, and operations.
• Calibrate instrumentation and perform preventive maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment.
• Maintain data transmission and computer-directed communication equipment supporting product movement, metering, leak surveillance, and power optimization.
• Diagnose circuit faults in contractor-installed equipment and support repairs, maintenance, and operation of pipeline right-of-way equipment.
• Provide HAZWOPER and emergency response support and participate in operations and maintenance personnel training.
• Drive a company vehicle to work sites and perform basic mechanical, operational, right-of-way, and general maintenance duties as needed.

Requirements

• Four-year Electrical Engineering Technology degree, or a two-year Electrical Technology degree plus two years of relevant installation, maintenance, and repair experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and adjust, calibrate, and repair various types of instrumentation.
• Experience using multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical tools; ability to read schematics, plot plans, diagrams, and prints.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email, including preparing reports and spreadsheets.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to remain insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English and perform physically demanding field duties, including lifting 40–50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

• Knowledge of SCADA systems.
