Project Engineer - Transportation

Location: Nashville, Tennessee, United States; based in the Nashville office

What you will do

• Execute transportation design plans, studies, and analyses using project software.
• Develop horizontal and vertical roadway geometric designs.
• Design stormwater, erosion prevention, sediment control, and traffic control systems.
• Coordinate with roadway, traffic, surveying, environmental, construction inspection, and landscape architecture specialists.
• Direct and train junior staff while supporting project managers with project goals and deliverables.
• Work on multiple transportation projects for public and private clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• At least 4 years of engineering experience, preferably including recent transportation design work.
• Tennessee Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Understanding of AASHTO roadway design guidance and knowledge of TDOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation.
• Experience developing roadway plans and specifications and working with municipalities and permitting agencies.
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D, along with strong communication and attention to detail.
