General Manager (DePaul Sports Properties)

Location: On-site in Chicago, Illinois, United States; availability for nights, weekends, game days, evening athletic events, and client travel is required.

Base pay: $120,000–$140,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop and execute sales plans with DePaul Athletics to meet and exceed sponsorship revenue goals.
• Prospect, present, negotiate, and close new and renewal corporate sponsorship agreements.
• Manage profit and loss, budgets, revenue projections, sales inventory, and sponsorship strategy.
• Lead, coach, and develop sales and account support staff at the university sports property.
• Build relationships with university stakeholders, business partners, clients, and sponsors.
• Oversee radio production and supervise broadcast talent while representing DePaul, Playfly, and the sports property.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 6–8 years of direct sales experience in a sports multimedia environment; 10 years of sales experience is preferred.
• Experience managing direct reports and meeting or exceeding budget and revenue goals.
• Familiarity with KORE or a similar CRM system.
• Strong integrated and conceptual sales experience, presentation skills, and communication abilities.
• Must be able to work on-site in Chicago and attend nights, weekends, game days, and evening athletic events.

Nice to have

• 10 years of experience in a sales role.
• Experience creating creative solutions and developing marketing concepts for prospects and clients.
