Maintenance Mechanic (Automated Packaging)

Location: Forest Park, Georgia, USA; onsite at the Atlanta Main facility. The role requires 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Starting hourly rate: $35.60 per hour, plus a shift differential when applicable for overnight hours.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and improve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, power transmission, and automated packaging equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections, planned work orders, emergency work orders, lubrication, and housekeeping.
• Support maintenance planning by providing feedback and participating in root cause analysis.
• Use hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, man-lifts, fabrication skills, and machine shop equipment to repair and rebuild machinery.
• Install and replace bearings, seals, belts, chains, and other equipment components; support conveyors, mechanical drive systems, pumps, and shaft alignment.
• Document completed work, track time, communicate with stakeholders, and collaborate on commissioning and sustaining new or overhauled equipment.

Requirements

• Industrial maintenance experience, technical college coursework, or vocational training in mechanical or electrical technical areas.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and follow OSHA and hirify.global safety standards.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods while handling tools, parts, and machinery components.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures, noise levels, and around operating machinery.
• Ability to organize the work area to 5S standards and develop a strong understanding of Progressive Maintenance.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with fillers, capers, labelers, conveyors, case packers, palletizers, blow molders, or other automated packaging equipment.
• Experience with welding, rigging, man-lifts, mills, lathes, band saws, presses, or other shop equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, automation devices, sensors, robotics, communication networks, and AC/DC drives.
• Certification for operating man-lifts.
