Senior Product Owner (Workday)

Location: Hybrid role requiring regular reporting to Somerset, New Jersey, United States; travel of up to 10% may be required.

Annual pay range: $130,000–$170,000 base salary.

What you will do

• Define and execute the Workday product vision, strategy, roadmap, backlog, and delivery outcomes.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, IT, Security, Enterprise Architecture, Data & Analytics, and external vendors to prioritize and deliver scalable solutions.
• Translate business processes, policies, compliance needs, and operational requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, reporting specifications, integration requirements, test scenarios, and release plans.
• Lead the design, configuration, enhancement, and governance of Workday business processes, security, reporting, integrations, and platform capabilities.
• Manage Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, release planning, Scrum ceremonies, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate impact assessments, testing, production validation, incident analysis, audit findings, data quality, controls, and roadmap improvements.

Requirements

• Product ownership or product management expertise, including roadmap development, backlog management, and prioritization.
• Knowledge of Workday business process configuration, reporting and analytics, integrations, security architecture, and access governance.
• Experience with Agile software development or delivery methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning.
• Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, testing coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• 3–5 years of experience in product ownership, business systems, business analysis, or enterprise application delivery, plus 3–5 years supporting Agile delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Workday HCM and/or Workday ERP capabilities.
• Experience with Workday releases, regression testing, UAT, stakeholder demonstrations, production validation, hypercare, and adoption tracking.
• Experience working with HR, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, IT, Security, Compliance, and vendor teams.
• Experience with requirements management, work management, documentation, and collaboration tools.
