Product Owner I (Fintech)

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States; hybrid within the M&T footprint, with remote work available outside the M&T footprint.

Salary: $113,300–$188,800 annual (USD).

M&T Bank’s Wilmington Trust Institutional Services division is growing its digital-first trust and agency service products through a strategic transformation program.

What you will do

• Define product vision, strategy, OKRs, feature priorities, and delivery roadmaps for major business technology products.
• Build current- and future-state business process and workflow models to support product design and strategic planning.
• Own and prioritize the backlog, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and apply Acceptance Test-Driven Development.
• Develop capacity and demand plans, make autonomous delivery decisions, and balance platform stability with targeted enhancements.
• Represent issuer, investor, and internal operations needs while coordinating client journeys and dependent backlogs.
• Administer Institutional Services platforms, including onboarding, entitlement management, upgrades, issue resolution, support coordination, risk controls, and audit remediation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of business, analytical, technical, or product experience; alternatively, eight years of combined higher education and work experience including four relevant years.
• Understanding of Design Thinking and digital product design and development practices.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement within the M&T footprint or remotely outside the footprint.

Nice to have

• Exposure to fintech platforms and emerging technologies.
• Experience integrating vendor platforms, APIs, and internal systems into end-to-end digital experiences.
• Agile or product certification such as CSPO or SAFe POPM.
