Aftermarket Mechanical Engineer (Packaging Machinery)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Full-time onsite role; some travel is required. Employment eligibility in the United States is verified through E-Verify.

hirify.global is a growing packaging automation company that develops and manufactures equipment for labeling, shrink sleeving, tamper-evident banding, and related applications.

What you will do

• Analyze customer specifications and application requirements, then design mechanical components and configure packaging machinery systems.
• Create 3D models, detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, line layouts, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Design machined and fabricated components including shafts, bearings, housings, drive components, mounting plates, sheet metal parts, weldments, and castings.
• Prepare bills of materials in the Syteline ERP system and maintain drawings, revisions, and engineering change notifications.
• Coordinate with sales, purchasing, production, aftermarket, field services, and assembly teams to resolve design issues and support on-time delivery.
• Interface with manufacturing and assembly technicians during fabrication, mechanical completion, testing, and design revisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is desired.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design and/or application engineering.
• Required experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience designing packaging machinery, with knowledge of product handling, machine capabilities, assembly principles, machining, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to apply mathematics, engineering charts, tables, and precision measuring instruments, with a basic understanding of electrical systems and sensors used in packaging machinery.
• Strong computer, written, verbal, communication, coordination, and multitasking skills.
