Maintenance Mechanic (Industrial Maintenance)

Location: Onsite at the union plant in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; on-call duty required for at least one week per month.

Hourly rate: $34.27. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is paid after 90 days.

What you will do

• Diagnose mechanical equipment problems by observing operation, testing performance, and inspecting components.
• Dismantle, adjust, lubricate, clean, repair, and replace defective mechanical parts.
• Install functional and structural equipment components.
• Operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to manufacture and repair parts.
• Initiate purchase orders for parts and machinery and repair electrical equipment.
• Follow safety, quality, and operational procedures while managing scheduled and on-call maintenance work.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience or related training.
• Associate’s degree from a college, university, or technical school; recent technical school graduates with required certifications are encouraged to apply.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, computer, math, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions, work independently, and manage workload.
• Consistent and reliable attendance.

Nice to have

• Certifications or experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, blueprint reading, rigging, vacuum systems, hydraulics, pneumatic components, plasma CNC, milling, lathing, or servo repair.
