Senior Systems Engineer (Media Technology)

Location: Full-time onsite at an hirify.global designated work site in Washington, DC. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $110,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Gather requirements, plan, and implement technical and workflow solutions for news, production, creative services, and station partners.
• Administer media production applications, systems, and infrastructure to maintain reliable operations.
• Own complex engineering projects from requirements gathering and technical design through implementation, testing, and post-launch support.
• Provide technical support, incident response, and clear customer communication.
• Maintain operational and troubleshooting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and standards.

Requirements

• At least five years of relevant experience, including at least one year of project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, radio, television and film, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting mid- to major-market news or live-event production operations and 24x7 mission-critical technology facilities.
• Expertise in media technology, including SDI, NDI, ST-2110 video infrastructures, encoding, live production systems, news-gathering tools, NRCS, NLE, media asset management, and transmission systems.
• Expertise in physical, virtualized, and cloud compute and storage, networking, and domain and identity management.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or similar.
