Senior IT Systems Engineer

Location: On-site in San Diego, California, with at least four days in the office and nearby government facilities

Salary: $135,000–$273,000 per year; disclosed ranges also include $135,000–$231,000 and $164,000–$273,000.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of systems and network engineers.
• Support physical and virtualized IT assets in company and Navy laboratories.
• Install and provision hardware, assess future infrastructure needs, and recommend hardware and software architectures.
• Maintain security processes, user permissions, DISA STIG checklists, and systems prepared for RMF assessments.
• Collaborate with internal and external technical stakeholders to establish responsibilities, objectives, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and troubleshoot end-user, infrastructure, and customer applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience in IT systems planning, network architecture, platform integration, vulnerability remediation, virtualization, or related areas.
• Experience with TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalls, subnetting, VMware and/or OpenShift Virtualization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience with DoD and Naval C4I or combat systems.
• Security+, CCNA, or equivalent IAT Level II certification; IAT Level III is a plus.
• Red Hat or similar Linux experience and networking experience in tactical systems.
• Cisco switching experience, including VPC, VLANs, and VRFs.
