Data Engineer (Canada, EST, Remote)

Location: Canada, EST; hybrid or remote. The role is associated with hirify.global Analytics in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and may require travel to the US, UK, and EU. Occasional support outside normal business hours may be required.

Salary: CAD 90,000–110,000 base annually, with potential eligibility for bonus awards.

What you will do

• Advise clients on data structures, quality, standardization, reuse, and best practices.
• Lead end-to-end ETL and data migration from customer ERP systems into hirify.global.
• Understand ERP financial data models and automate complex ETL jobs.
• Extract, format, shape, and troubleshoot financial datasets, providing workarounds and permanent fixes.
• Create and maintain data requirements, process documentation, flow diagrams, mapping templates, analytics pipelines, reports, and dashboards.
• Act as a data ingestion product expert and collaborate with customer success, support, product management, development, and data science teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience using SQL and Python to build and shape structured and semi-structured datasets.
• 5+ years of experience with ETL, data lakes, data analysis and profiling, mapping, modeling, and analytics.
• 5+ years of experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, Sage, or SAP.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, Microsoft Excel including VBA and macros, API requests, and project management software.
• 5+ years of customer service, consulting, or support experience in a software or technology company.
• Computer Science, Accounting, or Business degree, or equivalent experience; a full background check is required.
