Data Migration Specialist (Legal Tech)

Salary: $97,750–$165,750 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Assess customer source systems, including CRMs and spreadsheets, and analyze legacy data structures and mappings.
• Advise customers on data cleanup, remediation, and migration readiness strategies.
• Design source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, data models, and validation logic.
• Build and manage trial migrations and final cutovers using ETL tools, scripts, APIs, and database utilities.
• Execute data validation plans, support customer User Acceptance Testing, and troubleshoot post-migration issues.
• Document migration plans and results while improving internal tooling and migration standards with Product and Engineering.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or technical implementation in enterprise SaaS environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, relational data modeling, ETL processes, scripting languages such as Python, and API-based data transfers.
• Experience migrating complex datasets from legacy systems to cloud platforms.
• Experience with regulated industries and knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for customer-facing work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
