Software Engineer II – Java & Microservices

What you will do

• Design, write, test, implement, and document assigned program modules.
• Build and support scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Design, develop, and deploy RESTful microservices with authentication, service-to-service communication, and event-driven integrations.
• Collaborate with project teams and software engineers to provide technical support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects across application, infrastructure, and system layers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of experience independently identifying program issues and developing solutions.
• Strong experience with Java and SQL, plus a solid understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
• Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful microservices, API design, Spring Security, JWT/OAuth2, Kafka or RabbitMQ, and service-to-service communication.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, along with strong troubleshooting, debugging, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Banking or financial services knowledge.
• Experience with API Gateway technologies.
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development tools.
• Exposure to Angular, Kotlin, Xcode, or similar frontend and mobile technologies.
