Sr. Software Engineer - Java/Spring/AWS (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; hybrid work model. This position requires eligibility to work in the United States for any employer and does not offer visa sponsorship.

Salary: $142,000–$183,000 USD per year in San Francisco, California.

What you will do

• Build and maintain software using Java and the Spring/Spring Boot framework.
• Design and develop RESTful services and integrations.
• Work with SQL databases, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Apply modern DevOps practices and Git flow branching.
• Write and maintain automated tests.
• Collaborate through clear written and spoken communication while supporting internal and external customers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of direct software engineering or Java development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Git, SQL, and RESTful service design.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
• Eligibility to work in the United States for any employer at the date of hire.
• Successful completion of a background and drug screen.

Nice to have

• Recent AWS cloud experience.
• Payments, ecommerce, or fintech experience.
• REST/SOAP services and data formats such as XML, JSON, and YAML.
• NoSQL experience with Redis, HBase, AeroSpike, or similar technologies.
