Instrumentation Integration Engineer - Infrastructure Software (Automotive)

What you will do

• Integrate and maintain calibration add-on boards, high-speed measurement interfaces, trace pods, and adapter modules on SDV controllers and benches.
• Configure, debug, and support calibration and measurement workflows using XCP on DoIP, A2L/A2ML content, DAQ setups, and ECU flashing.
• Bring up and maintain calibration and farm benches across multiple microcontrollers, ECUs, and electrical architectures.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end issues involving wiring, schematics, connectors, licenses, tool versions, configuration files, and interface definitions.
• Create instrumentation documentation and work with ECU/DRE teams and external suppliers to resolve hardware constraints, tooling defects, and integration gaps.
• Coach SWILs, calibrators, and engineers on instrumentation hardware, tool versions, and configurations, using scripting and AI-assisted tools where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with ECU instrumentation, calibration tooling, embedded hardware integration, or comparable automotive-domain work.
• Experience with INCA or similar calibration and measurement environments, plus familiarity with XCP, UDS, or related protocols.
• Ability to interpret ECU schematics, interface documents, and instrumentation boards and troubleshoot microcontroller-based ECU lab environments.
• Knowledge of ASAM instrumentation standards and Nexus 5001, including JTAG and Aurora.
• Regular work on physical benches and in labs is required; the role is hybrid with attendance at the Milford location at least 3 times per week.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience in ECU instrumentation, calibration tools, embedded hardware integration, or SDV infrastructure.
• Experience with ETK/XETK hardware, XCP on DoIP security unlock strategies, Lauterbach, TRACE32, and PRACTICE scripting.
• Python scripting or basic automation experience for instrumentation workflows and checks.
• Experience creating instrumentation requirements, reusable guides, and technical training materials.
