Application Engineer Specialist - Emissions (Automotive)

Location: Plymouth, Michigan, United States; on-site customer commissioning and approximately 40–60% travel required

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical liaison and company representative for customers.
• Lead commissioning and deployment of complex engine, emissions, powertrain, and chassis dynamometer test systems.
• Develop, validate, and execute custom test procedures and automated test sequences.
• Evaluate emissions and powertrain performance data and provide technical recommendations.
• Integrate emissions analyzers, fuel conditioning, air handling, dynamometers, and auxiliary equipment into complete test cell solutions.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and application issues while supporting project schedules and cost objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in emissions testing, engine testing, powertrain development, and related applications.
• Experience with emissions legislation, certification testing, or calibration activities.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, emissions systems, aftertreatment, emissions measurement equipment, and powertrain controls.
• Experience commissioning, integrating, or troubleshooting complex test systems, including instrumentation, controls, data acquisition, software configuration, PC architecture, Windows, and industrial networking.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
