Staff Multidisciplinary Designer (Power Electronics)

What you will do

• Lead industrial design for power electronics products from architecture and concept development through detailed design and production.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, thermal, manufacturing, systems, software, commercial, and leadership teams.
• Develop product architecture, form, materials, finishes, ergonomics, interfaces, serviceability, labeling, safety, and manufacturing details.
• Use sketches, CAD, renderings, physical prototypes, mockups, and animations to explore and validate solutions.
• Design physical and digital product experiences, including installation, operation, service, controls, status communication, and embedded interfaces.
• Create technical diagrams, information graphics, presentations, documentation, product graphics, brand applications, and design systems.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience designing and shipping physical products, supported by a portfolio demonstrating strong industrial design judgment and execution.
• Strong fundamentals in form development, proportion, product architecture, CMF, ergonomics, manufacturing processes, and design detailing.
• Strong 3D skills with experience in CAD, rendering, prototyping, and physical modeling.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams under technical, manufacturing, cost, reliability, safety, and schedule constraints.
• Strong graphic and visual communication skills, including layout, composition, typography, information hierarchy, diagrams, and presentations.
• Ability to frame ambiguous problems independently, communicate design rationale, and drive work forward with limited direction.

Nice to have

• Experience designing industrial equipment, energy products, robotics, vehicles, electronics, or other technically complex physical products.
• Experience with UX or interaction design for hardware, embedded interfaces, tools, dashboards, or technical systems.
• Experience developing visual identities, product graphics, labeling, wayfinding, environmental graphics, or exhibition design.
• Experience in a startup or environment requiring broad, hands-on design work across strategy and execution.
• Interest in electricity, energy systems, manufacturing, and physical infrastructure.
