Power Electronics Engineer

Location: Must be based in Redwood City, CA or Austin, TX

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and test highly efficient DC-DC power converters for harsh environments without active cooling.
• Conduct electrical power system and sub-system level design trades to ensure system synergy.
• Define and execute electrical power system verification testing and analysis.
• Develop comprehensive test procedures for production technicians.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create state-of-the-art power electronics hardware.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or related STEM discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in power converter development (internships count).
• Experience in simulation and lab testing of power electronics.
• Hands-on experience with debugging and validating electrical systems using oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Strong grasp of DC-DC topologies and component selection.
• Experience with AC-DC converters.
• Familiarity with solar arrays as input power sources.
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery handling and safety.
