Senior Construction Project Manager (Project Controls)

Location: San Francisco, CA; approximately 4–5 days per week onsite, with periodic travel to off-site project kickoffs, client meetings, and active job sites.

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses and 401(k) matching up to 8%.

What you will do

• Lead construction projects through strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
• Act as the client’s representative and primary point of contact for consultants, contractors, general contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Manage project logistics, municipal and agency approvals, site constraints, quality, documentation, and client reporting.
• Oversee project controls, including baseline schedule tracking, cost estimating, cash-flow forecasting, and change-order evaluation.
• Manage open-book contractor buyouts, contracts, exposures, commitments, invoices, client billing, and collections.
• Lead risk management, contingency tracking, schedule and budget recovery planning, and actionable mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in construction project management and project controls across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience with cost management, scheduling, risk mitigation, and financial reporting.
• Background in commercial interiors/TIs, base building and renovations, critical environments, healthcare, life sciences, or ground-up vertical construction.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, architecture, business, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, site logistics, and building design and construction processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and corrective-action recommendation skills.
