Project Controls Manager

Location: Sacramento, California, United States; full-time onsite role

Annual salary: $125,000–$165,000

What you will do

• Lead the development, updating, validation, and tracking of pre-construction and construction schedules, including self-perform work.
• Monitor project costs, actual expenditures, budgets, financial reporting, and potential cost overruns.
• Set up labor productivity tracking, validate production rates, and communicate budget and production goals.
• Prepare, present, and negotiate change orders and delay or labor productivity claims.
• Identify critical path activities, schedule delays, conflicts, scope changes, and project risks, then develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Improve KPI dashboards, trends, project controls procedures, documentation audits, and P6 database management practices.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of construction experience, including 5 years in project controls, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with construction scheduling using the Critical Path Method and working knowledge of construction methods and processes.
• Proficiency with P6 Professional, Microsoft Suite, and Bluebeam.
• Working knowledge of job cost information and construction cost accounting.
• Ability to read and understand contracts, plans, and specifications; familiarity with virtual construction technology systems.
