Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada

Compensation: US Tier 1 $155K–$209K, US Tier 2 $142K–$192K, US Tier 3 $136K–$184K, or Canada CA$132K–CA$179K, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Lead and grow an engineering team within the Workspaces organization.
• Set technical direction for the agent harness, integrations, and developer workflows.
• Contribute to architecture and implementation decisions while staying close to the code.
• Evolve agent execution, tool use, context management, streaming, and long-running workflows.
• Extend provider-agnostic abstractions as models and capabilities evolve.
• Partner with Product and Design to improve agentic developer experiences, reliability, performance, and operability.

Requirements

• Experience managing and growing software engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on engineering experience with React, TypeScript, and Go.
• Experience building systems around LLMs and agentic workflows, including model APIs, tool calling, context management, or agent loops.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and working knowledge of AWS.
• Strong technical judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and a record of helping engineers grow while maintaining a high execution bar.

Nice to have

• Experience building coding agents, developer tools, or cloud development environments.
• Experience with MCP, agent tools, multi-agent systems, remote execution, sandboxing, or isolated compute.
• Experience building abstractions across multiple model providers.
• Deep experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or Linux.
• Open-source contributions or direct customer experience.
