Engineering Lead (AI)

hirify.global is building a mental health company for the LGBTQ+ community, combining specialized clinical care, technology, and insurance coverage.

What you will do

• Lead development of an AI-powered product suite that improves clinician effectiveness and enables personalized care.
• Build patient and provider experiences that support growth and onboarding.
• Develop full-stack products, including backend APIs, frontend interfaces, and AWS infrastructure.
• Work across product, engineering, and clinical teams to shape user-focused solutions.
• Set engineering standards and technical direction while working alongside offshore engineers.
• Grow and mentor the in-house engineering team over time.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping full-stack products end-to-end.
• Proven experience shipping AI products that delivered meaningful business results, with sound judgment about when to use LLMs.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js/NestJS, React/TypeScript, and AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with LLM APIs, RAG, agentic systems, and evaluation frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and clinical teams, with strong product instincts.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

• Experience as a founding or early engineer at a fast-growing startup.
• Experience in healthcare or another regulated environment.
• A bias toward shipping quickly without sacrificing quality.
