Research Technology Librarian (Legal Technology)

Location: New York, United States

Annual compensation: $90,000–$115,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.

What you will do

• Act as the primary liaison between the RIM department and IT for library systems, upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate and support the integration of GenAI research resources, including pilots and rollouts with IT and vendors.
• Administer Quest, Onelog, and other electronic resource management platforms, maintaining access, workflows, licenses, registrations, and renewals.
• Produce and interpret reports on electronic resource utilization, cost recovery, and collection performance, providing recommendations to RIM leadership.
• Coordinate purchasing, renewals, password maintenance, copyright compliance, vendor relationships, and license terms for electronic resources.
• Coordinate training for attorneys and staff and maintain documentation across library systems, SharePoint, and intranet resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an MLS or equivalent master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience in a law firm or professional services organization; AmLaw 100 experience is preferred.
• Experience administering library systems or research request management platforms; Quest experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and technical skills, with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience working with IT teams on system integrations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, particularly Excel and SharePoint, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GenAI tools and their application to legal research technology.
• Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent.
• AmLaw 100 law firm experience.
• Experience with Quest.
