Director Enterprise Architecture (FinTech)

Location: Hybrid, with up to 50% work from home; open to Compeer office locations in Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Base pay: $149,700–$227,900 USD annually, plus variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing Enterprise Architecture team.
• Translate organizational priorities into target-state business capabilities, technology architecture, and investment decisions.
• Shape Enterprise Architecture strategy for FinTech and AgTech domains.
• Establish architecture principles, standards, and governance across business, applications, data, infrastructure, cloud, security, and AI.
• Lead the Architecture Review Board and guide technology and solution decisions.
• Modernize the technology portfolio, reduce technical debt, and evaluate AI, automation, API-first integration, cloud, and other emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5–7 years in Enterprise Architecture or related leadership roles.
• Experience leading and developing architects across multiple domains and building or maturing an Enterprise Architecture practice.
• Broad expertise in business, application, data, infrastructure, and security architecture, including cloud strategy, application portfolio management, and legacy modernization.
• Strong ability to connect business strategy with technology direction and communicate with executive and technical audiences.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or certifications such as TOGAF, cloud architecture, SAFe, or CISSP.
• Experience evaluating AI/ML, intelligent automation, and API-first integration.
