Associate Director, Enterprise AI Architect

Location: Remote for US-based candidates only; Philadelphia, PA

Salary: $153,600–$230,400 annual base pay, plus potential bonus, incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and continuously improve enterprise AI/ML architecture strategy, technology standards, operating models, governance frameworks, and policies.
• Establish reference architectures and architectural guardrails for scalable, secure, compliant, and maintainable AI/ML solutions.
• Review end-to-end AI/ML designs covering data ingestion, model development, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps.
• Evaluate Generative AI solutions, including LLM, RAG, fine-tuning, agentic, evaluation, and guardrail approaches.
• Perform technical due diligence on AI vendors and platforms, assessing architecture viability, data handling, security, transparency, and operational maturity.
• Advise senior technical and business stakeholders on AI use-case feasibility, scalability, reliability, technical debt, and responsible adoption.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative or technical field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in AI, machine learning, or data science; 10+ years preferred.
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML system architecture, data pipelines, model deployment, cloud-based ML infrastructure, and enterprise integration.
• Proficiency with MLOps practices including CI/CD, model versioning, experiment tracking, and monitoring.
• Experience with Python or R, ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn, and at least one major cloud platform; AWS or GCP preferred.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
• Experience evaluating and integrating third-party AI/ML solutions and vendor platforms.
• Knowledge of AI governance, model risk management, responsible AI principles, and emerging AI regulation.
