TL;DR
Client Leader, Justice + Civic (Architecture/Construction): Leading client relationships, contract negotiations, and execution of large-scale justice and civic architectural projects with an accent on business development, project financial performance, and coordination across project teams. Focus on managing budget, schedule, scope, change requests, invoicing, and stakeholder expectations across complex public-sector projects.

Location: Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, or Houston, Texas, United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays.

What you will do

  • Manage project execution across budget, schedule, scope, quality, and client expectations.
  • Lead client relationships, facilitate meetings, and coordinate project personnel, vendors, consultants, and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on staffing, responsibilities, and performance feedback.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, manage change requests, and approve project plan modifications.
  • Support business development through RFP responses and client interviews.
  • Oversee project invoicing and manage accounts receivable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related construction field; professional licensure is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of professional AEC industry experience, including at least 5 years in a client-facing role.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale architectural projects and working with state and local jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, customer service, and project financial management.
  • Expertise in design techniques and tools for producing technical plans, drawings, and models, plus familiarity with construction and renovation methods, materials, and systems.
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
